2013 NV Field day Results
The ARRL has posted the results from this years Field Day. Field Day covers all of Canada, the United States and the U.S. Possessions (Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Guam, Northern Marianna Islands, American Samoa). This year there were 2548 Field Day locations. Nevada had fourteen Field Day operations which submitted logs from the event. A total of 222 hams, family members, and guests participated in the Silver State.
The overall points winner among Nevada stations was the Sierra Nevada Amateur Radio Society, which had a score of 6,416 pts. SNARS finished first in their category in Nevada and third in their category among all entries.
The most attended Field Day in Nevada was the Hams On The Hill location, with 76 participants on their sign-in sheet. Hams On The Hill is a grass roots, non-club gathering on Mt. Charleston 35 miles from Las Vegas. By attendance they were the 38th largest of the 2,548 locations. In their category they finished first in Nevada and fourth among all locations.
Single operator Ed Dybowski - WD7Y of Reno had a very respectable 1,790 points on his battery powered portable (1B1B) station.
