Black Friday- Let's go Play radio

Two things that really seem to enhance the amateur radio operating experience is setting up equipment outdoors and getting together a group.

Las Vegas area hams will have an opportunity to join in just such an activity this Friday November 29th, at the Red Rock overlook on SR 159 west of Las Vegas (Charleston Rd).

From sun-up until noon the plan is to bring anything you like and get on the air.

Nevada NWS Stations  tO Recognize SKYWARN

Picture
The three National Weather Services Field Offices in Nevada will be on the air for the 15th annual SKYWARN Recognition Day.

Beginning 00:00 UTC on December 7th and running until 24:00 that same day, groups in Elko, Las Vegas, and Reno will attempt to contact all of the other NWS offices and any other amateur radio stations which might be on the air.

The event is jointly sponsored by the ARRL and the weather service.

Look for WX7LKN, WX7LAS, and WX7RNO in the 80, 40, 20, 15, 10, 6, and 2 meter bands as well as on IRLP.
