SNARS Has New Officers and New Home
A new Board of Directors and slate of officers has taken the leadership reigns of the Sierra Nevada Amateur Radio Society in Reno.
The three hundred member SNARS has become the largest amateur radio club in Nevada. The group was formed by a merger three years ago of two former clubs, the Wide Area Digital Group and the old SNARS club. The new blended club retained the SNARS name.
The growth of the club during the past couple of years has forced the group into a bigger meeting venue. The January 2nd meeting found SNARS gathered at their new meeting site at the Boomtown Hotel/Casino in Verde, Nevada just west of Reno.
The January meeting also marked the inauguration of a new slate of officers.
SNARS is governed by a Board of Directors elected by the membership. Officers are in turn elected by the Board of Directors. New officers and Directors for 2016 include: Anthony Marcin W7XM President, Don Sebiert N2MOO Vice-President, Judy Carlson KE6GIW Secretary, Bill Jones AE7OX Treasurer, Steve Johnson KS6A Director, John Byerly N7ROJ Director, and Jim Shepherd W6US Director.
