ARRL Certificate of Merit Awarded to Washoe County

During Tuesday's meeting of the Washoe County Board of Commissioners, ARRL Local Government Liaison J. Edward Parker-N7TOC presented Washoe County with an ARRL Certificate of Merit for the counties support of Amateur Radio.
Commissioner Vaughn Hartung comented: "I would like to thank the League for the certificate, but all across the nation, ham radio operators... I mean they're the backbone in emergencies like are occurring right now in Napa.... when normal lines of communications are down, you guys jump in and really make a huge difference, so again, thank you for everything you do and we appreciate the certificate."
